More and more tin

I've mentioned that I'm addicted to working with tin right ? It's just so fun and colorful !

here are all 20 handmade tin cuff bracelets .

They're the best kind of arm candy !

Now I'm working on earrings . I make these reversible so thats why they're paired up with the other tin I want .

Now that I have them all cut out I'm going to spend the day rivetting them together . I love rivets !

 

In other tin news , I've ordered a book on tin smithing ! I think it would be great to learn how to make things like jewelry boxes and household items out of tin . That book needs to hurry up and get here !

Recycled Tin Jewelry

I have a massive love for making anything with tin . I guess this due to that fact that with tin I can do the two art forms I always go back to , collage and jewelry . I've tried my hand at mosaic ,book binding ,sculpture and so many other art forms but jewelry and collage are the two I always go back to .

Recently i've begun to make cuffs out of tin . I'm so in love with them ! each time I finish one I think this is the one I'll keep for myself .
They're just so colorful ! they make me think of summer festivals and spring flowers .

 

Right now I'm making stock for my second craft show of the year . Hopefully when the chaos that is my life slows down I can staet doing a giant etsy listing . Bu for now if you want one just drop me a message . I'm selling them for 20$ each .

More tin !

Last weekend was the first time  I've vended both my tin art and tin jewelry . And while my art got great reviews I only sold one piece . I'm going to chaulk it up to being St. Patricks day and no one was in the mood to lug around a piece of art .

I was very proud of my set up .

Last night I started working on my largest tin collage to date . It's 11 inches high and 9 inches wide and while that doesn't sound very big ,when you think of how small images on tins are it's huge !The piece still needs a few more bugs but I havent found the right tin images yet

I never know how to end a blog post ... but I plan on posting on a more regular schedule

the above collage has to be one of my favorites , mostly due to my huge love of coffee and tea . It's strange to me that the main background color is yellow as I actually hate yellow.

 These were all briefly in a local gallery . But the owner said the general consensus was that they didn't fit in with the rest of the art . It makes me a bit sad but she is trying to get me in touch with another gallery were my work would fit in nicely .

I kinda hate the above piece . It came out was to Christmas for my tastes .

And lastly Prince Puppy . This is the largest piece I've worked on so far . It was a bit of challenge but I adore how it came out .

 

At the moment I'm gearing up for a large event called Marry Durham . All of my tin collages and my new line of tin jewelry will be for sale . After the even I plan on reopening the etsy shop ! And finally doing the studio destash sale I promised ages and ages ago .

OMG I'm back on the internet !

Ages ago my laptop died and I had no way of updating. But with the new laptop I plan on doing that more often !
