First I'm going to try to update this poor sad little blog at least once a week . Tomorrow i'll be editing photos for a simple tin jewelry tutorial . The first part will show how i deconstruct a tin can .
I've also been working on a few new necklaces .
That piece cause be a few problems . One being that the copper pipe was too large to use my pipe cutter on ! So i had to carefully mark the width I wanted the piece to be a saw it with the jewelers saw . It was a slow process but in the end i think it was worth it .
Scrimshaw is a really fun and beyond easy. Which makes sense , it was what sailors did on long sea voyages . Basically you need a piece of bone {I'm using bone bead rejects} A sharp implement to scratch into the bone, ink, green scrubby pad and Renaissance wax. I want to practice my line art more as drawing really isn't my strongest skill . I also think I want to see if it can be done on the product called faux bone .
And here's the piece i'm currently working on
The bone bead rejects I mentioned were bought from a person that makes bone beads, these either have an irregular shape or the hole was drilled incorrectly. I like using something that would have been thrown away.
