I could have finished today. If I had I would have succeeded in my goal of a garment a month. But it's just not finished yet. But it's going to be awesome when I do finish it !

I'm also still trucking away at my knitting,it feels like it's going to take forever.

What else have I been doing? Tarnishing my brass jewelry bits ! I've learned alot. Like how I first have to strip off the finish or the blacken it won't work. After it's all nice and blackened ,I then lightly sanded the pieces. They came out awesome !

Sewing and Knitting and Horror movies OH MY

This weekend was the NeverMore Film festival . I had a blast! Would you believe we saw 11 movies in three days ?! I brought my knitting to work on between shows ,so I've at least started the back of my tank top.
Today I figured out why my pink sewing machine was being a pain. I put the needle in Backwards ! OMG, proof that I'm a noob at sewing. But I've started working on the pink skirt again and should have pictures tomorrow. It's coming along rather nicely . And I'm making a dent in the massive amount of ribbon and trims. The dyed pink laces and stuff.

I'm up to my eyeballs in resin !

Not really but I have been working on some really cool pieces. I've recently started to embed some of my antique lace collection . It comes out amazing ! Here's a sneak peek at some of the pieces I've made.
So if all goes according to plan I should have a very large update to the etsy shop this week !
I've also been knitting like crazy ! I'm almost finished with the front of my tank top and then sometime today I'll start the back. My goal is to finish an article of clothing a month either sewn or knitted . It's the best way for me to get better at it ! And I'll soon have more clothes then I know what to do with. But thats not so much of a bad thing is it ?

This weekend is the Nevermore Film festival ! it's one of the many reasons I adore living in Durham . Three days of scifi ,thriller and horror films !

Things

I noticed today just how much happier I am since we bought a house. I'm thrilled that I can truly surround myself with all the strange little things I love. Take pink rabbits.. I seem to be amassing a large collection of the cute creepy little things . Some are given to me by friends and loved ones and other are from artists . This tiny still life isn't all of them !
I also love that I can hang art work or paint the walls if I want !

Lately I've been so busy casting resin eyes for a select few in the bjd community . I don't think I could ever offer them on DOA .. I'd never have time to work on anything else ! Speaking of working , I actually started to work on Mr Deer's tattoos ! It's a lot harder then I first thought it would be . You can see both halve of the human face, but not so with the deer. This is making that symmetry go out the window ! All in all I think he's starting to become rather dashing !

On the knitting front , I'm about to start the bust part of the tank top. I'm dreading it as I tend to make frequent mistakes in seed stitch . I hope hope no one notices them. The next pattern I plan to work on will be a cute cropped cardigan .I still haven't settled on the yarn.

I'm also working on a new tutorial ! This one will be making pins using the tiny things you've cast !

Brrrr ?

Actually it hasn't been that cold . Which make me a little sad. One of these winters i'll be able to wear some of the sweaters I've knit ! Speaking of knitting this is my progress so far . So far it's pretty light. Thats a rally good thing! I'd hate for it to be heavy and stretch out to gargantuan proportions while I wear it.

Some time today I'm going to head to Joanns fabric and pic up the base fabric for another skirt / This one will use the laces and things I've been dying in shades of pink ! Even though I try to avoid wearing alot of pink clothing due to to having pink hair, I just can't help myself. Here's a pick of the pink things I've dyed . Oooo and Ahhhh.

Today I'm mailing off the largest package I have ever mailed before ! I sold one of my dolls and she will be headed to her new home today. But I did find a great use for the grocery bags we save.. I used em to stuff the box so that her box won't move !
